There are not many travelers around the world who are left untouched by the beauty and flamboyance of Brazil. Visitors to this remarkable Latin American country often end up making a second trip to the land of Carnival, soccer and natural beauty once they get a taste of it. The Best of Brazil is meant to wet your appetite, combining the best of Brazil cities, Rio and Salvador, with two of its premier natural destinations, Iguassu Falls and the Amazon River.

Scintillating waters, rich cultural heritage, awe-inspiring museums and friendly Cariocas, the ever-welcoming residents of Rio de Janeiro, have turned the city into a visitor’s paradise. Even the vastly traveled men are bound to be engrossed by Rio's charm. They rave about the city’s skyline, beaches, nightlife, its sounds of the Samba, and its easy going outlook on life. A climb up the Sugar Loaf Mountain, the solid rock of Pão de Açúcar, will give you an unforgettable 360 degree view of Rio and the Guanabara Bay, with the 13.9 km long Niteroi Bridge, the sixth longest bridge in the world, stringing the horizon of the Bay. There is a minute healthy controversy regarding what renders the beautiful look to the city of Rio de Janeiro – whether it's the Sugar Loaf or the Corcovado with Cristo Redentor. The statue of Christ the Redeemer was elected as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, but you may opt for  the other after you will have a chance to see them both! It’s noteworthy how the natural harbor is enclosed by all sides with sky high mountains, greenery and the adjacent world-famous beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema that line Rio's eastern shores.

The Iguassu Falls proves the great poet John Keats’ statement that "A THING OF BEAUTY IS A JOY FOR EVER." One has to keep to a schedule in order to visit all the important park sites of Iguassu. A boat trip into the bottom of the falls is definitely a thrilling experience and a highlight of the journey, a true "Maid of the Mist"” voyage. Iguassu falls of Brazil are smaller than the Iguazu Falls of Argentina on the other side of the border, hence one best visits both sides as they promise all to impress you with the their mystical and mesmerizing beauty.

Salvador, the nest stop on the Best of Brazil tour, never disappoints, as its baroque architecture and colonial and cultural heritage are astounding. But visiting anywhere in Brazil on the day of the Carnival is a mighty experience in itself. One feels as if in a mega size bar, full of colors, beat and frenzy. In short, the thickly populated Carnival is an overwhelming experience and one has to be there to feel the atmosphere. So if you may contemplate to come to Brazil to see a festival, note that the Carnival in Salvador is considered to be the greatest street party in the universe! During Salvador's carnival people are in a jovial mood. Even the preparations for the weeklong celebrations of the Carnival are fascinating to witness as locals ready themselves for the events. During the Carnival the streets remain flooded with people until the wee hours of the day, and what a spectacle that is.

So much has been written about the mighty Amazon River and for a taste of it you have to visit its most prominent port, the City of Manaus. Surrounded by endless expanse of rainforest, an astonishing part of the city is indeed the Amazon Rain Forest. Manaus is a busy commercial port, teeming with a variety of local industries including food production, brewing, shipbuilding and manufacture of electrical tools among others.

Itinerary:

Day 1 : Arrive in Rio de Janeiro
Meet and greet, then transfer to your hotel for checkin.
Rest of the day at your own leisure.

Overnight in Rio de Janeiro

Day 2 : Rio de Janeiro
The Corcovado mountain has been Rio's top attraction, in a way its symbol, and needless to say it's been hailed by many famous Brazilian composers and artists of all kinds. Your tour will leave the hotel taking you along the Rio's famous beaches to the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas (lagoon) via the 2.6 km long Rebouças tunnel that links the southern and northern parts of the city separated by the Tijuca ridge that makes Rio the only city in the world to have a National Park only five minutes from
its downtown. Reaching the Cosme Velho district, you will take a Swiss-made cogwheel train that climbs the mountain from its base at 15 meters above sea level to almost the very summit of Corcovado at 670 meters. The very top of Corcovado below the statue of the Christ is reached by ascending a flight of steps or by taking an elevator. While the elevator makes the ascend easy and fast, the steps offer numerous vantage points along the way, with the surrounding Tijuca National Forest spreading below and a circle of mountains closing the horizon at the very back of the Guanabara Bay.

Following lunch at a local restaurant, we will continue to Pão de Açúcar, the Sugar Loaf. Known world over as Rio's postcard and a must to visit site, the top of Sugar Loaf is reached on a two-stage cable car ride. The cable car, capacity 80 persons per trip, takes mere 2-minutes per each stage. The first stage, Morro da Urca, barely 170 meters above sea level, has a restaurant, amphitheater, a helipoint for scenic flights and a stunning view of the Yacht Club and Botafogo Bay below. The second stage takes you up to the very crown of Sugar Loaf - thus named because of the loaves of sugar that were commonly pressed by the Portuguese at the time of the founding of the city. The all-encompassing panorama from this impressive 270-meter high lookout is truly unrivaled and the vistas of Rio in all directions will remain in your memory, guaranteed.

Next proceed to visit the downtown where Rio's major colonial buildings are located, the true and original center of Rio from which it grew. We will pass by the Marechal Floriano Square, also known as Cinelandia. This square concentrates the best of
late 18th century French style architecture in Rio de Janeiro: the Municipal Theatre, a scaled-down version of the Paris Opera; the Fine Arts Museum; the National Library (reputed worldwide for the copies of Gutemberg's bible and other first editions dating back to 1500, brought to Brazil by the Imperial Family of Portugal when they moved to Brazil fleeing Napoleon's threat in the early 19th century).
